Dr. Stacy O'Quinn, Partner, Director of Medicine
I
was born and raised in both ends of Georgia; Gainesville in North
Georgia and Brunswick in South Georgia. I got my first pony when I was
four and my first dog when I was eight. From that point on, I was
hooked on animals! I worked two jobs in high school to pay board for my
horse and one in college for the same reason. My dog and I were
inseparable throughout college: hiking, fishing, and camping every
weekend. That dog kept me sane through eight years of college!
I
graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine
in 1996. Upon graduation, I moved back home to Brunswick, Georgia, met
and married my husband, Shannon, then met and started working with Dr.
Sybil Davis. In 1999, Shannon and I moved up to South Carolina so that
Sybil and I could start our dream practice, and we have never looked
back! Riverwalk has become not only my job, but a big part of my life.
I think of my patients and clients as extended family. I enjoy not only
the medicine and surgery but also the updates and stories of my
patients and their families.
Shannon
and I had our first child, a son named Austin, on March 8, 2005. He's a
wonderful little boy that has certainly changed our lives in great
ways. Of course Shannon and I still spend plenty of time with our
horses. We also have cows, goats, dogs, cats, fish, and geckos, which
keep us busy. Shannon and I rope cattle, and I barrel race in local
competitions and rodeos. We also take our horses on camping trips where
we enjoy trail rides. When not on our horses, we try to find time to
boat and waterski with friends. Our lives are definitely full and busy!

Dr. Sybil Davis, Partner, Hospital Director
I
grew up in a large family with many pets throughout my childhood.
Becoming a veterinarian was my dream, and I accomplished this in 1985
when I graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary
Medicine. After graduation my husband Kirk and I returned to Maine
where we met. I owned a small animal practice there, in Rockland, for
twelve years. Since Kirk and I are avid golfers, we decided to move
south in 1997.
Prior to starting
Riverwalk Animal Hospital with Dr. O'Quinn, I worked at the Savannah
Veterinary Emergency Clinic, did housecalls, and worked in other
practices. It is exciting now to have our own practice. I enjoy working
with Dr. O'Quinn and our excellent staff, and having a new facility
with state of the art equipment. We are blessed also to have wonderful
clients who allow us to take care of their pets, many of which are
considered family members.
My
free time is spent golfing with Kirk and friends, or playing in local
and state tournaments. We also enjoy exploring the creeks and marshes
in our boat. For relaxation I especially like walking through the
nature preserves on Spring Island with Scotty, Stubby, and Squirt, my
three terrier mutts.

You
may have seen me at Riverwalk Animal Hospital the past few years when I
was training during my breaks from school. I am very pleased to say I
just graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine
in May of 2007. It was a long road, but well worth it. I am excited to
finally start practicing medicine and establishing my own patients.
I grew up in Coosawatchie, spending as much time out on the water as
possible. In the picture you can see my black Lab, Jessie. Also there
is my cat named Chappy, who was just a kitten when he was left on
Riverwalk's doorstep years ago.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets when you come to Riverwalk Animal Hospital. |
