Maxie Hattery -
July Pet of the Month
My name is Maxie and I was born in California in the year 2000. We were a homeless family until my mom came upon a really nice lady who let us play in her yard. This lady took us in so that we became one big family and never had to want for anything.
In 2006 we moved to South Carolina where I really enjoy the big screened in porch and laying on the chaise watching the birds and squirrels. Mom calls me the “Sheriff” of the house as I walk around checking to make sure everything is ok. If it isn’t, I will let her know (mom says I’m very talkative). Other favorite pastimes are keeping my two kitty aunts in line, getting combed by mom and spending time sitting with her. Some think I am fat, but really I’m just a big lover boy!
I know I fuss and cry when I go to Riverwalk but it is never as bad as what I think it might be. I have had my share of health issues including some bad urinary tract infections, bladder stones and heart disease. My mom had the great idea of “vanity shaves” to control the hair under my tail. This cured my bladder problems! And her good care getting my ultrasounds and heart medication is keeping my heart in great shape! I am appreciative of the doctors and staff at Riverwalk for caring for me and my family. |
