Nellie, December Pet of the Month
Nellie is a sweet 6 year-old Lab who has been coming to Riverwalk Animal Hospital for a couple years. She was always the picture of health until a few months ago. She came to us for vomiting and ended up having a mass on her neck that was causing the problem. It was almost certainly cancerous, but her owner opted for surgery instead of the alternative. Our Board Certified Surgeon was called in for the operation. It was touch and go for a few weeks. Due to her owner's tender loving care, including hand feedings, and months of antibiotics, Nellie pulled through with flying colors. She is now better than ever, and her parents could not be happier.
