Sami and Sisi , April Pets of the Month
Sami and Sissy are no strangers to Riverwalk Animal Hospital. We see these two munchkins at least a few times a month. They are either here picking up heartworm prevention and food, or it's time for Sami's customized allergy injection.
Sami is a 9 year-old Cocker Spaniel/mix who is quite the troublemaker. A few years ago he had to have surgery to remove a gastric foreign body. Sami had eaten too many rawhides and they became lodged in his stomach. He recovered well from that surgery and now craves his treats more then ever. Early last year, Sami blew out his knee and needed surgery to repair it. Our board certified surgeon was enlisted for the task. Sami struggled a bit with his recovery, but now is doing very well. We've gotten to know Sami very well over the years, and even though he requires a muzzle for even applying flea prevention, we couldn't love this stinker any more.
Then there's Sissy, the angel, the apple of her mom's eye. She is the sweetest, happiest dog you could ever meet. Also a Cocker Spaniel, Sissy is 8 years old. Last year, a snake bit her while they were out for a walk. Her mom rushed her right in and with quick treatment Sissy was back to perfection soon.
These two are quite the pair. They definitely keep their mom on her toes. Sami and Sissy are lucky to have such a great owner that takes such wonderful care of her babies. |
