Higginbotham herd, March Pet of the Month

You're looking at one of the luckiest groups of dogs around. We first met this happy bunch last year when PeeWee was added to the group. He was intended to be a hunting dog, but with deformed legs, a heart murmur, and needing a cryptorchoid neuter surgery, he did not meet the needs of his previous owner. So he found his way to his new family and could not be happier. His owners started taking him swimming and doing physical therapy with him. They also saw a veterinary cardiologist for his heart problems. PeeWee is very happy and healthy now. (and did I mention a wild man!)

No story would be complete with out mentioning sweet George. He's the shy one in the picture. George has heart disease and hypothyroidism. These problems are helped with medicine that his owners give him everyday. He gets blood tests done every 6 months to monitor his conditions.

Riley is the newest addition to this fine family. Last fall his owners found him walking down the side of the road covered in blood. We assumed he had fallen out of someone's truck. Riley was full of parasites including being heartworm positive. He went through heartworm treatment without a hitch and is now just one of the gang.

Daisy has her special place with the troup being the only girl and the only non-Beagle. She is a sweet girl who is full of life.

Radar is about 10 years old and of course a Beagle. He has a tendency to run away from home, which causes his owners headaches, but other than that, he is a happy boy with no health issues.
