Cupid, February Pet of the Month
Cupid was found on Valentine's Day and now is almost 4 years old. He is
a special kitty who has had a rough couple of months. Last September
Cupid came to see us and he was very ill. His family had been out of
town over the weekend. When they came home, they found Cupid very
lethargic with a poor appetite. They rushed Cupid into Riverwalk Animal
Hospital and we found him to be very anemic and dehydrated. Cupid was
immediately started on IV fluids and was given a blood transfusion. A
month later, Cupid started to become sick again and received his second
transfusion. It's been a long road to recovery for Cupid. For the past
few months Cupid has been coming in twice a week to receive anemia
checks and receive a special injection to help stimulate his red blood
cell production. Now, thanks to his family's devotion, he is holding
his own and we are proud to have Cupid as our February Pet of the
Month.
