Timber, March Pet of the Month
Here is the one, the only, Timber. He is a 13-year-old Terrier mix who
has seen his fair share of Riverwalk Animal Hospital. Timber is a
diabetic that receives insulin injections twice a day. His parents are
old pros at this now. They make sure that he eats his meal and is
feeling okay every time before giving his injection.
Lately, Timber has been gracing our presence a little more than we like
to see. He has been having some complications due to his diabetes. To
rid him of these problems, Timber receives a day or so of IV fluids,
and then he is back to his usual self. His parents judge how he is
feeling by looking at his "Wag-O-Meter". If that tail is wagging, then
Timber is feeling just fine. We hope that Timber’s tail keeps on
wagging for many years to come. |
