The Hodges Herd, May Pets of the Month
This month we honor an entire family as our Pet(s) of the Month. They
have all captured our hearts in one way or another.
Jack was the starter of the group. He has moved around with his mom
since college. Jack is very lovable and easy going. He always accepted
the new additions to the family with open paws. When people first meet
Jack they notice he only has one eye. His mom says that's just part of
his charm.
Tucker's story actually started at Dr. O'Quinn's house where he
wandered up one day. Since finding his new home, Tucker has become an
agility dog, training and competing in trials. He has taught his mom a
lot about dogs (and herself).
Mojo introduced himself to this growing family by just walking up to
the house one day. His new mom started leaving food out for him and he
quickly made himself right at home. When he was brought into Riverwalk
Animal Hospital, Dr. Davis discovered Mojo had already been neutered.
This made his mom believe he had been lost or abandoned. Either way,
Mojo was quite content at his new loving home.
Amy's tale begins at Jasper County Humane Society, where she was
brought after being captured in Ridgeland. When Amy was adopted, she
was terrified of all people. Her new mom informed her all Amy had to do
now is "be a dog". She would not make Amy hunt, confine her, or treat
her unkindly. Amy quickly began to trust her mom and now whenever Amy
wags her nub, her mom knows she made the right decision adopting her.
Eddie. His mom used to say, "what's one more dog?" Well when that dog
is Eddie, one more dog can be a lot of work, but also a lot of fun!
Eddie has jumped right into the mix of cats and dogs without ever
skipping a beat. From the start, Eddie made it very clear that sleeping
anywhere except under the covers was unacceptable.
