Belle - July Pet of the Month
Meet Belle, a special dog looking for a special home. In
August of 2007 she had a stroke of the spinal cord (FCE which
stands for Fibro Cartilaginouis Embolism) that left her unable
to walk. Her family was unable to care for her properly so
Riverwalk took her in as a special case. Despite lots of
physical therapy and loving care Belle still could not walk
properly. After very careful consideration, doctors decided
to amputate her left rear leg. Belle gets around very well
now. She is a sweet dog, very loving and friendly. She does
have a minor incontinence issue so needs an outdoor home
or a very special indoor home. If you'd like to meet her
or have an questions just let us know. Belle is one of those
that has taken her lemons and made them into lemonade. She
is very deserving of a second chance and we are honored to
help her in that quest for the perfect home.
