Miss Lady Graham -
May Pet of the Month
Miss Lady’s story began 5 years ago when she showed up at the end of a driveway of an unknown home. She was scared, thin and skinned up from being hit by a car. Fortunately, she wandered up to the right home where they doctored her up and eventually won her trust with food, patience and love. About a year ago, she started to get sick. She was lethargic, tired and had no appetite.
Miss Lady came to Riverwalk as a new patient in March of 2009 with severe heartworm disease and other complications from the heartworms, so she could not start treatment right away. Finally, in October 2009 she was well enough to begin heartworm treatment. Today she has successfully completed treatment and is doing very well. She and her owners walk everyday. They originally did not understand how prevalent heartworms are in the South and that she must be on monthly heartworm prevention. Heartworm prevention is one of the most important things you can do for your pet. A simple pill, chewable or topical can extend the life of your best friend and save you both the trauma of treatment.
We are delighted that Miss Lady is our happy and healthy May Pet of the Month! |
