Crusher, January Pet of the Month
Crusher is a very gentle, 5 year-old Lab mix. He has been a patient at Riverwalk Animal Hospital for over 3 years. Crusher was always in very good health up until this November when he started exhibiting an odd behavior. He would be fine all day until about 5:00 pm, when he would start stumbling, and falling into things. Then after eating he would return to normal.
After many diagnostic tests, it was determined that Crusher would need surgery to remove a mass from his abdomen. While we know the mass was large, what we found was a mass that weighed 3 pounds with a 6-inch diameter. It was attached to his stomach and had affected his body's metabolism causing the fainting episodes. Crusher recovered quickly and is now back to his healthy lifestyle thanks to his great owners for recognizing his odd behavior and getting him treatment quickly.
